InteSpring operates from multiple locations in Europe, each with a clearly defined technical focus. By combining deep, location-specific expertise with close cross-location collaboration, we develop integrated mechatronic solutions from concept through to industrial implementation.
Our Munich location is home to InteSpring’s Control Systems expertise. This is where the intelligence of our systems is developed — from precise motor control to robust electronic architectures.
In Munich we focus on:
This expertise is a core building block of InteSpring’s solutions and is closely aligned from an early stage with the mechanical and system development in Rijswijk.
Each InteSpring location operates with its own technical focus and responsibility. At the same time, there is continuous knowledge exchange between Munich and Rijswijk. Control systems, electronics, and mechanical design are developed in parallel and aligned throughout the development process.
This approach allows InteSpring to combine depth of expertise with system-level coherence — without compromising specialization.
INTESPRING // A TECHNOLOGICAL POWERHOUSE
InteSpring was originally founded in 2006 by Boudewijn Wisse (MSc in Industrial Engineering), Wouter van Dorsser (MSc in Industrial Engineering) and Rogier Barents (MSc in Mechanical Engineering). The patented core technology of InteSpring, counterbalancing gravitational forces by using smart energy storage mechanisms, led to many products and multiple spinout companies
Anchis became a joint venture between InteSpring Holding and Anchor. With the sole purpose of commercializing the by InteSpring developed Balancebox. (https://www.heightadjustablemounts.com/).
Sprinq was the first full sister-company of InteSpring. It developed, produced and sold. Modular, spring-powered seating to help elderly to get out of their chair. Unfortunately Sprinq ended in a lawsuit with on of the partners and was finally liquidated in 2021. All IP is transferred to InteSpring Holding.
Laevo was the second joint venture between InteSpring Holding and Achmea as a direct result of the X-arm project that has been developed within InteSpring. It was also in 2014 that InteSpring was contacted by the Dutch Ministry of Defence to facilitate technological development of the Exobuddy exoskeleton project.
Currently InteSpring focusses on wearables that can exert a force, like exoskeletons and medical orthoses.
